14.2.1. Rights

In 2020, CO2 emissions in the ORLEN Group amounted to 17,027 thousand tonnes, while the value of the provision for CO2 emissions as at 31 December 2020 amounted to PLN 1,274 million.

The market value of owned EUA rights exceeds their total carrying amount, therefore the Group does not identify impairment indicators.
As at 31 December 2020 the market value of one EUA amounted to PLN 150.17 (representing EUR 32.54 at exchange rate as at 31 December 2020) (source: www.theice.com).

In 2020, the volume of redemption obligation for coloured energy allowances in ORLEN Group amounted to 916 thousand tonnes, while the value of related provision as at 31 December 2020 amounted to PLN 186 million.

As at 31 December 2020 book value of EUA rights blocked within hedging deposits in the Clearing and Settlement House (Izba Rozliczeniowa Giełd Towarowych S.A. (IRGiT) in Polish) amounted to:

• PLN 180 million and related to 3 million of EUA rights and 160 thousand MWh colour energies from PKN ORLEN,
• PLN 67 million and related to 496 thousand of EUA rights and 240 thousand MWh colour energies of the ENERGA Group.
  
  Additionally, as at 31 December 2020 and as at 31 December 2019 the Group recognised rights to colorful energy in the amount PLN 26 million and PLN 30 million, respectively in trade and other receivables and to CO2 emission rights as at 31 December 2019 in the amount of PLN 18 million (note 14.5.2).
